I had a scare 14 years ago when diagnosed with colon cancer, but ended up just needing surgery.
I too felt a profound peace from all the prayers. While I was still terrified on one level, there was another part of me that felt like I was floating in prayer.
When I joined the local chapter of the Nurse Honor Guard in Savannah last year, the meeting was held in a private home. As I was signing in, the nurse that took my information looked oddly familiar. I asked her where she worked and she said that she was a PICC nurse. As soon as she answered me, I realized she was the nurse that had put my line in the morning of my cancer surgery all those years ago.💕🙏
Thank you for sharing your story. Your courage and the good people who surrounded you made all the difference, I’m sure. Your faith was your salvation, I believe. I, too, am a firm believer in prayer. There are many who are going through hard times that I pray for. It may be a health situation or a personal issue or just someone who has lost their way. Russ, Thank you for sharing this. I knew you had a form of leukemia (perhaps John had shared it) at one time many years ago and have just always been so happy that you had overcome it. What you went through was frightening but the outcome is so positive. Your sharing of this can be so helpful to many. I recently remarried after my husband of 50 years died several years ago from PC and his wife had passed away also. We have both been through several years each of caring responsibilities. I admit to a fear of what to expect but your testimony helps me so much. You have helped so many over these years and we are in debt to you. God's Blessing!
Hi Margery, I had a dream last night. I think it was a dream. I usually wake up at 3 AM and use the time to pray for people. Now, I am not one who actually hears audible words from God. I see those videos and wonder if I am somehow lacking. Anyway, there was this "message"--no God didn't actually speak to me. I can't actually explain it but these words came: "Faith Never Fails".
Thanks Russ. I’m on C21x and fellow physician. I’ve had two scares with SVT landing in the ER. Closest I’ve been to death. I was calm knowing my days are in His divine hands and frankly I’m ready to go home. Arrhythmia would be a great way to go too. Assurance of salvation makes all the difference. Gayln Perry
Thank you for sharing your experience with facing death and how knowing the Lord helped you to get through the difficult time. Having faith that Christ is going to meet us at THE gate can help one to get through many challenges. Fear not is one of the most powerful messages of the Bible.
