Dear Dr. Gonnering: I meant to write last night but my stack has blown up today and I finally took a break now. I wanted to let you know how much I admire your examinations of ethics and morality in medicine-- both this essay, as well as your earlier essay: The great ethical collapse. One of the most important aspects of protecting ourselves is recognizing that the normal 'monitors' of standards, ethics and proper procedure are now as out of control as the rest of the former checks and balances! ~ Ginger Breggin
The medical profession has been unmoored from ethics for quite some time, going back at least to its tacit acceptance of abortion. It's getting worse. Truly informed consent for treatment is rarely provided. Following guidelines rather than individual clinical judgment has become the norm.
Honest risk vs benefit analysis would eliminate most of current medical practice.
Direct third party payment, and corporate practice are both unethical.
Euthanasia is now OK. Brain death criteria are modified to allow for live organ harvesting.
Start over with a parallel system. A new medical school teaching ethics, clinical reasoning, and real science, funded entirely by tuition and philanthropy. The Hillsdale model.
Establish new certification boards, free from industry bias.
I've been trying to convince Dr. Arnn of this for years. Hillsdale has the vertical and horizontal reach, starting with their affiliated middle and secondary schools at the start and the Academy for Science and Freedom at the back end. A true "Community of Practice" could be built in as little as 10 years, but a start has to be made. As the Chinese Proverb: "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is today".
I reached out to Prof. Arnn through his assistant about six months ago but never heard back. I wonder if our friend Elon Musk would be interested in starting "The X School of Science, Medicine, and Ethics?"
Thank you for tackling this important topic. Like you, I no longer recognize my profession, either. This is beyond evil.

I have been very fortunate to have the two of you as examples of what ethics should look like.
Hi Russell, Ginger here-- I wanted to invite you to be on our radio show.
Please email/text/call me so we can arrange a time to be our guest if you will.
Very best, Ginger
I would be honored! Give me a call at 262-389-8702 or email at rsgonner@gmail.com
A great place to read of the history of the medical cartel is here: ahealedplanet.net
Thank you for this.
Russell, Brilliant article. It deserves wider circulation than it will get, sadly. But I will pass it around for sure. This is beyond reprehensible.
Thanks!
Wonderful article, and deeply concerning.

I could go on, but you get the point.
Do you see a way out??
Start over with a parallel system. A new medical school teaching ethics, clinical reasoning, and real science, funded entirely by tuition and philanthropy. The Hillsdale model.
Establish new certification boards, free from industry bias.
Ban direct third-party payment for care.
We are working towards these in The Body.
