And so, "The Flexner era," I wrote elsewhere, "is over".

Next objective might reasonably be the FSMB. The need there, in my view, is past time to scrutinize, possibly with the aid of Congress or the courts, or both, the Federation's most questionably conceived and chartered, and the relatively untransparent, currently opaque and cryptic operating procedures, manners and practices by which its near-totalitarian control of state medical boards occurs -- and especially today in such a one-way, federation-to-board direction.

Look here for why physicians, in particular, were scrutinized, harassed, and persecuted for even thinking about seeing the COVID-19 patient being treated in a too tardy, too standardized, abysmally wrongheaded and death-assuring way, eschewing the empirically demonstrated, early, therapeutically successful and incomparably less costly manner with the numerous ancillary remedies that accompanied the main agents of drug therapy with HCQ and IVM.

It's the logical and most fertile place to open the book, I think, and examine exactly how and why this medical/public health debacle occurred and may still persist, if death and its entirely preventable, pre-event morbidities, procedures, and treatments -- eg, placing a patient in late disease condition on a ventilator and receiving remdesivir IV -- were and still are incompatible with rational, ie, timely, appropriately therapeutic and cost-effective, medical care.

Thanks for illustrating the absurdity of the betrayal of the healing arts and of those in need.

An excellent, very gratifying discourse with a truly profound, serious and weighty scope.

As an educator extraordinaire, you're also a genuine, invaluable and dispensable medical Mensch; a later-day Maimonides, to be sure.
